We took a drive over to Black River Harbor, yesterday. The drive was beautiful from the snow that is still sticking around. Winter just refuses to go away. No matter the conditions of the trail, we still headed out to enjoy the views. There was a lot of bypassing super icy spots & the kids would purposely slip and slide on any ice they could find. The forest still appears to be hibernating. The river & waterfall, on the other hand, were not. All of the recent rain and snow melt has made the rivers rage. The amount of energy coming off of Rainbow Falls was breathtaking. The spray was hitting my face while I filmed and it felt so lovely. I would definitely recommend a hike that culminates in a frozen waterfall! Always & forever. Every year, the waterfalls freeze into a new sculpture & they are always evolving. Lake Superior is melting!! We found patches of sand, driftwood & a few pretty stones. I look forward to further melting & the possibilities for rockhounding! Sheena
